DJI drones

Which DJI path is yours?

Three ways to get a DJI drone's live feed into Hover, and none of them touch the Hover CLI, the Hover Relay app, a field laptop, or a command-post GCS machine. This page picks the right one for your fleet.

If you fly DJI, you can skip the rest of the getting-started flow: no relay software to install, no machine to run in the field or at the command post. Everything below runs from the DJI app already on your controller or phone.

Enterprise or consumer?

The two DJI apps don't overlap, so this is a hard fork. Enterprise drones (Mavic 3 Enterprise series, Matrice 30 series, Matrice 300/350 RTK, Matrice 4 series) fly with Pilot 2 on an Enterprise remote. Consumer drones (Mini, Air, Mavic 3/4, Neo, Flip) fly with the DJI Fly app.

The three paths

PathDrones it fitsWhat you doInstall anything?Best when
RC adoption Enterprise (Pilot 2) Sign in with a work email, inside Pilot 2 itself No You want the fastest, zero-config connection
Pilot 2 manual RTMP Enterprise (Pilot 2) Paste a custom RTMP address into Pilot 2's Customize Live Stream screen No Your fleet is pre-provisioned, or adoption isn't set up on your account yet
DJI Fly manual RTMP Consumer (DJI Fly) Paste a custom RTMP address into DJI Fly's Live Streaming Platforms screen No You fly a consumer DJI drone

Flying Enterprise? Start with RC adoption. It's faster and there's nothing to copy; use manual RTMP only as a fallback.

All three paths connect video only: gimbal control and flight telemetry stay with you, on the controller you already fly. None of them touch the Hover CLI, the Hover Relay desktop app, or MAVLink; that's the separate path for non-DJI drones (PX4, ArduPilot, Parrot, Skydio, Autel), covered in Getting started.

Common questions

Do I need the Hover CLI or Hover Relay app for a DJI drone?

No. All three DJI paths (RC adoption, Pilot 2 manual RTMP, DJI Fly manual RTMP) push video straight from the DJI app to Hover's cloud. There's no field proxy, no operator client, and no command-post machine to set up.

I fly DJI Enterprise. Should I use RC adoption or manual RTMP?

Start with RC adoption. It's a work-email sign-in inside Pilot 2 itself, with nothing to copy. Fall back to manual RTMP only if your fleet is locked down to a pre-provisioned configuration, or adoption isn't available on your account yet.

I fly a consumer DJI drone (Mini, Air, Mavic, Neo, Flip). What do I use?

DJI Fly manual RTMP. The DJI Fly app doesn't have an adopt-style sign-in, so pasting a custom RTMP address is the only path for consumer DJI drones today.
