Nebli Environment FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most, each with the page that covers it in full.

Getting access

How do I get an account?

Access is by invitation only: an administrator in your organisation invites you by email with a role. To ask about access for your organisation, use the form at nebli.ai/environment. See People and access.

Is there a password?

No. You sign in with an eight-character code sent to your email. It works once, for a few minutes, in the browser that asked for it. See People and access.

What can each role do?

Everyone signed in sees the map, the nodes, the table and the network page. A Viewer also sees alerts and rules; an Analyst can also export; an Operator can also acknowledge and close alerts; an Engineer is the same as an Operator today; an Administrator can also manage rules, nodes and everything in Settings. See People and access.

Can I use it in Spanish?

Yes. Each person chooses English or Spanish; it starts as the browser's language and can be changed from the menu or Settings.

Connecting sensors

How do sensors send readings?

Through an adapter: MQTT, HTTP, or a TALQ street-lighting gateway. An administrator creates the adapter in Settings › Adapters, and its card shows the credential and where to put it. See Connecting sensors.

Do I have to register a node before it reports?

No. The first time a hardware id reports, the node appears under Unclaimed nodes on the network page. An administrator adopts it into a site, and then it appears on the map and in the table. See Connecting sensors.

What happens to a reading with an unknown channel or an impossible value?

It is kept as suspect: stored for diagnosis and shown on the network page, but it never opens an alert, feeds an index or becomes a node's current value. See Connecting sensors.

Is Nebli Environment TALQ-certified?

No. It implements the TALQ specification; it is not TALQ-certified. See Connecting sensors.

Alerts

How fast does an alert appear?

Within a minute of the value crossing its threshold, on the map, on the node's page and in Alerts. See Alerts and rules.

Why didn't a short spike open an alert?

A rule with an average compares the average over its period, not each reading. A one-minute spike barely moves a 24-hour average; a rise that lasts for hours does. See Alerts and rules.

A node stopped reporting. Why?

The network page and the node's alert show a probable cause read from its last readings: power, link or sensor, with the evidence behind it. See Network health.

Can alerts go to our video console?

Yes, to HikCentral Professional as a Generic Event that raises an alarm on the camera on the same pole. Delivery has been tested against a simulated receiver in the documented format, not yet against a HikCentral Professional installation, and sending to HikCentral Master is not confirmed. See Sending alerts to your console.

Air quality

Which air-quality index does it show?

IBOCA, with five levels, and ICA, with six categories, each by its own method and never merged. See Concepts.

Your data

How do I get all of my data out?

Export raw readings gives every reading of a site over the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days as CSV, with the % valid data as a second file. Export table downloads exactly what the table shows. Exporting needs the Analyst role or above. See Exports and the read-only API.

Is there an API?

Yes, a read-only one. An administrator creates a key in Settings › API keys; it reads your nodes and readings as JSON, at up to 60 requests a minute per key. It does not include alerts or the air-quality indices. See Exports and the read-only API.

How long are readings kept?

For the period your plan sets, never less than three months. Settings › Retention shows the periods and the last purge. See Security and data.

Security

Where does Nebli Environment run?

Where Nebli hosts it, at env.nebli.ai, in Nebli's own AWS account in one US region, in its own namespace with its own database. See Security and data.

Is it certified (SOC 2, ISO 27001)?

No. Nebli Environment has not been audited or certified against a security framework. See Security and data.
