Who this is for: the analyst who works with the data outside Nebli Marine, and anyone who needs a complete copy for a report or an audit.
Before you start: you are signed in (Getting started). Every role can start, list and download exports, the lector included.
Start an export
Open Exports and choose:
- Scope: what to export.
- Campaign: the whole campaign.
- Launch: one launch of a campaign.
- This drifter: one drifter, over a range you choose.
- Two moments: everything between two dates and times.
- Format: CSV, GeoJSON, or CSV + GeoJSON.
- Start export.
You can also start from where you are: Export this launch on a launch's page, Export this drifter on a drifter's page (with the range the page shows), and Export on a campaign. Each opens Exports with that scope already chosen; nothing starts until you press Start export.
The export runs in the background, so you can keep working. It appears under Exports taken, with when it was taken, its scope, how many readings, positions and nodes it holds, its format, and who started it.
What an export holds
Everything, as recorded: raw values with their quality, and gaps left as gaps. Nothing is interpolated, cleaned or dropped.
- Readings (CSV). One row per channel value, with the drifter's label and hardware id, its kind, the campaign and launch, the channel, its components and units, latitude and longitude for a position, the values, both clocks (the device's time and the arrival time, in UTC, plus the coastline's UTC offset), the source, the quality and its reasons, the firmware version, the message sequence, and the gateway credential it came through. The column names are the same in English and Spanish.
- Readings (GeoJSON). A point for every message with a position, carrying that message's values, quality and reasons, and a line for each stretch of a drifter's track within a launch. A track breaks at every silence, so no line crosses a gap.
- Audit (CSV). What was done to the campaigns, launches, gateway credentials and drifters the export covers: when, by whom (person id and name), the action, what it was done to, and the detail. It never includes anything about people, invitations or sign-ins.
Which campaigns an export covers:
- A drifter's export holds every campaign the drifter reported in.
- A Two moments export holds every campaign of your organisation that ran during that period.
- An export of a campaign that is still running holds its readings up to the moment the export started, and its row says so ("up to 10:32, when it was taken").
Downloads
Each export lists its files with Download buttons, and the audit as its own download. Downloads stay for 30 days. After that the row stays in the list and says File expired; export again to get a fresh copy.
Files are named after the scope and the dates they hold, for example marine-campaign-punta-cana-2026-a-20261001-20261011.csv.
Large exports
- A file larger than 512 MB is split by day, in UTC. A day with no readings gets no file, and a day larger than 512 MB continues in numbered parts. Each part is a whole file you can open on its own.
- An export that would store more than 20 GB in all fails, and says too large: choose a narrower range. Nothing it had stored is kept.
When an export waits or fails
Your organisation runs one export at a time and can have 10 more waiting; an eleventh is refused with a message. Exports from other organisations never hold yours up.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Another export of your organisation is running; this one starts next. |
| Running… | It is being prepared. |
| Failed, try again | It did not finish, with the reason: too large, what it covered no longer exists, or something went wrong. |
| File expired | It is older than 30 days. |
