The DJI RC has a built-in screen and looks as capable as the others, but DJI Fly has no live streaming option on it. No setting on the drone changes that. The same drone streams on a remote that supports it.
It matters because some kits come with the DJI RC as the only remote. Per the compatibility table, the Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro and Air 2S stream only with the RC-N1, and the Mavic 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Classic do not stream on the DJI RC.
These remotes have no screen. DJI Fly runs on the phone clipped into them, and the stream goes out over the phone's mobile data or Wi-Fi. They stream at 1080p, the highest in the table above.
Both stream, and both stop at 720p. DJI attributes the cap to the controller hardware, so it holds whichever drone they fly. If your recording is sharper than your stream, this is why. Neither needs a microphone.
The RC Pro streams at 720p. Both it and the Smart Controller need a microphone plugged into the remote before the stream will start. Without one, the stream does not begin.
Any remote in the table that streams can send to the social platforms built into DJI Fly, or to a custom RTMP address. A custom address is how the stream reaches a private web page instead of a public channel: point it at a relay that serves the stream to a browser. The stream carries video only. Nebli is one such relay; how streaming a DJI drone to a website works explains the path, and the DJI Fly live streaming guide shows the screens.
To see which remotes your drone ships with, and whether it streams with each one, check the DJI compatibility page.
No. DJI Fly has no live streaming option on the DJI RC, per DJI's app documentation.
Yes, at 720p. DJI attributes the cap to the controller hardware.
The RC Pro needs a microphone plugged in before streaming starts. The Smart Controller has the same requirement.
The RC-N3, RC-N2 and RC-N1, at 1080p, the highest in the table above.
