These are measured, not taken from a spec sheet. On our bench, a Matrice 4E on an RC Plus 2 sent:
| Measured | |
|---|---|
| Video | H.264, High profile |
| Resolution | 1280×720 |
| Frame rate | About 30 fps |
| Audio | None; the stream is video only |
| Bitrate | Roughly 9.5 to 14 Mbps on a healthy connection |
The bitrate is the number that surprises people. Pilot 2 labels the quality "1.5M", which reads like a cap. On our bench it behaved as a floor: the stream climbed well above it whenever the connection had room, and the in-app readout showed more than 13 Mbps. If you are sizing a cellular plan or a link for a Matrice 4E stream, plan for the measured figure, not the label.
The full bench write-up has the method.
The Matrice 4T, the Matrice 4D series, the Matrice 400, the Matrice 350 RTK and 300 RTK, the Matrice 30 and 30T, and the Mavic 3E, 3T and 3M all run DJI Pilot 2 and stream the same way, per DJI's developer documentation. We have not measured these ones ourselves. For those models, DJI's documentation states five quality levels up to 1080p at 3 Mbps, and does not state the frame rate or codec.
The remote depends on the model: the RC Plus 2, RC Plus or RC Pro Enterprise. Whichever it is, the stream goes out over its connection, which can be Wi-Fi, a 4G or LTE module or dongle, or a tethered phone, depending on the remote.
Pilot 2's custom live stream setting sends the feed to an RTMP address you give it. That is how it reaches a private web page instead of a public platform: point it at a relay that serves the stream to a browser, and anyone you share the link with watches there, with nothing to install.
Nebli is one such relay. How streaming a DJI drone to a website works explains the path, and the DJI Pilot 2 live streaming guide shows each screen, including the one step that catches people out: changing an active stream means exiting it first.
Yes, from DJI Pilot 2 to a custom RTMP address. We ran it end to end on a Matrice 4E with an RC Plus 2.
Yes, per DJI's developer documentation. It uses the same Pilot 2 live stream setting as the 4E.
We measured roughly 9.5 to 14 Mbps on a healthy connection, although Pilot 2 labels the quality "1.5M". On our bench it behaved as a floor, not a cap.
Not on the Matrice 4E we measured. The stream is video only.
